The Armour School District will add May 15th, May 16th, and May 17th onto their calendar for this year as school days due to the amount of snow days we have had. May 17th will be the last day of school with a 12:00 dismissal. Graduation will still take place on May 13th at 4:00 PM. The updated calendar is attached. Thank you!

Today, notes went home to K-8 female students to gauge interest in starting girls' softball teams for the summer. The note asks for them to be returned Wednesday, March 15th.

🧪Our Pre-School and Physical Science Class worked together this morning to create Oobleck. Is it solid or is it liquid? Ms. Sparks calls it a Lolid. 👩‍🔬 Thanks to Ms. Sparks and Mrs. Nase for coordinating this. Also thank you to Mike Krumm and Jen Wilson for their help in the classroom! Great to see the kids all working together!

Our last school board member to be in the spotlight is our President, Larry Ymker. This is his 19th year on the board!!! Thank you Larry, for your service and dedication to the Armour School District. How long have you been on the board? I started on the school board July of 2004 so almost 19 years. How do you become board President? Board members nominate people and usually as in my case situation I was the only one nominated so I assumed the position.I have been board president since July of 2013 . What do you like about being on the school board? I really like working with the administration and the other board members making decisions for the school district. How do you like working/owning Fairway Seed? I love owning Fairway Seed it can be very challenging and stressful at times as with any business but helping customers with their seed needs is gratifying. What is your favorite part about Fairway Seed? The favorite parts of Fairway Seed are our customers and employees that I get to interact with daily. The variety of different type of jobs at Fairway Seed keeps me from getting bored almost every day there is a project to do. What is your favorite thing about Armour? Armour is a great friendly small town that has about everything you need to buy in it and most everyone knows your name! If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go? The one place I really want to go to is Alaska.

Do you like being on the school board? Yes Are you going to stay on the school board when your kids are out of school? I will plan on it if I am re-elected. What do you like to do with your free time? I like to go hunting and fishing. What do you do for a full time job? I work for the South Dakota DOT. If you could have any job what would it be? I would be a hunting guide. How did you come to Armour? I was born and raised in Armour and I never plan on leaving.

Armour School District Book Blast for Read Across America Week Our voyage starts next week, Monday, February 27th, when we'll cast off in search of Book Blast treasure. Once your child receives their Treasure Map Monday, the treasure hunt begins!
