Armour Administration
Hello, people of Armour and Douglas County, South Dakota.
Community awareness post. PLEASE SHARE with FAMILY, FRIENDS, NEIGHBOURS!
Hi. 👋🏼 😊 My name is Lauris and I am a university student from Latvia. I successfully got my state sales license approved and introduced myself to Sheriff Christine Lau at Douglas County Sheriff's Office and at the Armour School District.
I am posting this to give a friendly update to the community that I will be going DOOR to DOOR for the next few weeks helping families with education.😇
Since I go door-to-door it has its reputation, I am trying to be laid back and compliant when meeting families at their doorstep. I will give my best to leave everyone in a good mood. My priority is to treat every family as I wish someone would treat my parents at their doorstep ❤️ SUPER EXCITED🤩🤩🤩
Everybody is super nice and friendly here, thank you for that! Thank you for having me here! 🤩👍
This is my 5th year in the USA helping families with educational resources and I am happy to say I have been able to help over 1500 families during my past summers!
I DO NOT represent or am affiliated with any of the schools. It is my summer internship and this is the way that I get to pay my way through school.
I sell:
1) Study guides and apps that help parents to help kids with NEW Math & other subjects. 📱📚 partners of McGraw Hill.
2) Books and Apps and study guides that help children save time doing schoolwork in High school & test preparation throughout grade 1 till grade 12📱📚 including The Princeton Review’s ACT/SAT prep.
3) Leadership development program for teens.
4)Fun and educational kids learning system from babies till 12yo kids to give them a head start in school. 📱📚
5) Kids Bible books for character building. 📚
When I knock on your door, then know that I have an accent, please do not be intimidated by that. 😉
I drive a white Toyota Camry with Maryland plates.
I’m excited to meet everyone!
See you at your door 😊
P.S.- Second time in South Dakota- loving it.

2023 - 2024 School Supply List - https://5il.co/1yvm2
As part of working on renewal credits which every teacher needs to do (6 credits in 5 years). I am doing a book study on a book by Chris Woods titled “Daily STEM”. This is a professional development course provided by DIAL / CORE office in Platte which we are a member school.
The author has a chapter entitled “STEM and Families and Communities". Here is a quote from the book I would like to share. (Chris Woods words) “We can turn family STEM into an acronym: Stories . . . Talk about STEM in your daily lives; Trips . . . Visit places where STEM is used; Exploring . . . Discover STEM in the natural world; and Making . . . Build, fix, or create with STEM.”
There is a website to go along with this book. https://dailystem.com/news/
Here is an example of the newsletter he creates. https://5il.co/1xqy1
Hope you are enjoying your summer. Mary Bitterman
Thank you to Cody Schilling and Casey Schlatter from the Augustana Basketball Coaching Staff for putting on a two day camp for our area athletes. We had almost 50 kids participate and saw a ton of improvement!
TDA-AC/DC Thunderhawk Football will be having a players team meeting next week Thur June 29th at 6:30 in the Armour High School building. This will be a players only meeting to go over the dates that we’ll have camps in July, equipment handout, physicals needed and then the official practice start dates in August.
